No per diems - at least within MC in Advisory (not heard of any groups within PwC that typically have per diems)
We have no per diem. We bill actuals and there is policy online about how much you're supposed to be spending.
Projects can decide to per diems; however, most decide to do actuals with a limit (typically $50-60). Every meal expense rule is very project specific
Ok. And what's the ratio of local/ travel projects?
@S1, there may very well be specific meal rules for certain engagements, but the statement, "every meal expense rule is very project specific " is incorrect. I have never had a project where we deviated from the standard , published guidelines.
Depends on the contract, but yes - you'll have a daily allotted "allowance" for food. Some projects give more than others, but it's all about the budget
That's what I was surprised about. Not every practice can be on on per diem.
Is this per diem vs actual expenses OP? At DC we generally budget for expenses to be an additional 15% of fees. 100k contract is forecasted to $115k with expenses
P, I've been on PwC and S& projects that have allowed the expensing of lunch, purchasing meals in your home city on Thursday, etc. There are expense policies, not many people follow them down to the last word
