Just looking for advice, is using easy apply on LinkedIn worth it at all or no for climbing the IT ladder and pay?

It seems like the lazy man's approach but has anyone actually been successful in getting work from those types of applications? I've always done it manually with a cover letter.

I try to apply on the company website and fully fill out an application because it’s such high competition right now.

In this market your best bet is probably to have your resume delivered to the hiring manager via carrier pigeon.

It doesnt hurt but doing more for the perforect role stands a better chance. Its competitive out there right now. Im looking for 5+ months 400+ submittals. Some have been the easy apply, some customized. I need to pay for things so taking the easy apply on some things and hoping for the best will have to do but my resume is customized countless times over.

Always, go to companies website. The website will also let you know how long the original job posting was posted. I’ve seen quick apply for roles posted on websites 30 days ago.

CCTC: 17

Got 2 offers:
Lucidworks - 33
Boeing - 35(Verbal offer after countered them with lucidworks offer).

Now with freshworks, last round is pending.
Let me know what would be better.

From interview perspective, I enjoyed lucidworks interview as the interviews taken by quality people compared to other two companies. But it is a startup.

Btw, I have been interviewed for 6 rounds in Citrix and waiting to hear from them.

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. What is the environment like and has anyone been in a situation where the contract with TCS and the client ended and had trouble with TCS finding them a new role at the same pay?

I just had an L7 sdm interview with Google. Seemed to go very well except one of two system design interviews. The one went great and one went ok until they asked me to estimate the cpu/ram/server needed to handle the workload. I could give a great answer. We shall see.

Those of you with a degree in computer science (or similar), what do you do for work and how did you end up doing that?

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

Is there a risk of accepting a role with Upstart currently? I seen a 7% layoff recently for hourly employees but I would be salaried. I am well aware it’s a risk in tech overall right now but curious on thoughts thanks!

Hi everyone, a question to the tech industry at large.

Why are people so hesitant to hire disabled candidates?

I am a visually impaired practitioner in South Africa, with 7 years of experience, and as soon as recruiters or business owners hear/read that I'm disabled, the conversation gets awkward and I never hear from them again.

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
