I have family members who grew up under Jim Crow…not talking about it doesn’t make it any less true how little removed we are from that reality, or how it is still effecting communities today. But i suppose it’s much more comfortable to pretend the pain and triumphs in adversity never happened.
BCG2 if you do not care to talk about them or what they went through, that is your choice. But when the history of my family’s existence looks like this, I think it’s fair to acknowledge how recent this all is and the massive impacts it still has today.

I think celebrating historically marginalized people is great. I do think it’s a balance though when you’ve got a whole month…like, keep things at a low boil for the month vs. maxed up the whole time …otherwise a month is a long time and it kind of loses peoples attention if it’s over the top the whole time.
We used to put up decorations for pride in June too. Sometimes there'd be a day with cupcakes. Last year, nothing. Just a few people wearing rainbow pins in silent protest.

You are right. I don’t remember seeing anything. May be they did send something but it was obviously way less than usual.
Will it hurt our business? If yes, don’t do it. If no, do it. With either decision, someone’s going to be offended - placate whoever has the power these days.
