Just signed an offer but no recruiter/hr has reached out yet. It’s been a week. The start date is a month out so there is some time still and I’m guessing they’re doing background checks right now. Just wanted to hear more about day 1 expectations and transit accommodations such as parking etc. Keep waiting or send a 2nd email over to the recruiter?

Did you receive an email asking to provide confidential information and agreement to start the background checks? If not, I'd reach out. If the background checks are in progress, you could wait another 2 weeks before reaching out.

In this case I advise following up saying you are looking forward to the email to initiate the background checks. Most of the time that email should be triggered automatically as soon as you accept the offer through the portal. In some cases it's not due to technical glitches and it's best to inform the recruiter. Best wishes!

I'll say wait at least a couple of weeks; as you said, they could be running background checks, E-Verify, and MVRs. If the start date is a month away, they will take their time.

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.
