Strategy & what???
Rising Star
Just ...and Justice for All - Hoohaaah!
Kearney hands down

I chose between the two and chose S&. Our comp is better, we do more strategy work, and I think having the backing of all of PwC creates a more robust business model
That said I really like ATK and I'd choose ATK over any other T2 excluding S& -everyone I know there is super friendly!!
Finally though I'd also remember we hire by vertical, so if you're not interested in the vertical you have an offer that's a relevant consideration

I’d like to buy your unused Kearney offer for $20; S& for $15.

Strategy& has had a choppy run. They do pay more at least at the associate level, but I think frankly it’s to try to offset the brand issues they’ve had. Anecdotally, I’ve also heard about a pretty cutthroat culture at least in some teams, plus the early specialization in my mind hurts the point of having a generalist start to your consulting career unless you’re hell bent on working in a particular space.
I’m clearly biased in favor of my own firm, but I think our culture is quite special and we offer the closest thing to the private strategy firm experience across industries excluding MBB. We are also not part of a larger firm (like OW with MML or S& with PwC), which really does offer structural advantages as well. Just a bunch of friendly, bright, humble people.
I struggle to see how picking slightly higher comp vs worse culture and a potentially uncertain future under big 4 (none of the strategy houses purchased really truly are excelling under big 4 ownership though I do think S& is the closest) wins for most people, but hey, I’m biased ;). The only exclusion IMO would be if you want to focus on a vertical that Kearney isn’t strong in for your market - where S& is. Otherwise, I do think we’re the optimal pick of T2, again excluding specific industry areas (OW for financial services for example)
I’m at S&, so also a bit biased.
I think the culture comments are overblown — you’ve signed up for long hours regardless of where you work.
The money here is better.
I think it comes down to whether you’re okay with specializing early.

Does Kearney hire experienced hires?
It has four practices on the listing but I'm far removed; definitely will move quicker if you're able to network with someone and get more details https://kearney.recsolu.com/jobs/Ikfg2j9BudycHy-FjDZvZw

The only consulting firm I would work for outside MBB. My opinion holds Eve after joining MBB now
But Kearney is very close choice, mainly for personal reason

Both great. I almost went Kearney due to the personalities of the people I met.
Ultimately I chose S& for the comp and more strategic focus in my vertical.
