Oh absolutely! I have made sure to explain the directions much more carefully and thoroughly since then. And my assistant has been extra cautious too! We were so thankful the dog was ok!!
When I was in vet school, we did receive some training on how to handle medical errors. We were taught to inform the owner as soon as possible and to explain the situation and the potential risks or complications that can occur. We were also taught to apologize for the mistake and to offer to provide any necessary treatment or monitoring for the animal at our own expense. It is important to be honest and open with the owner and to make sure to provide them with the best possible care.
