Let go from a boutique RE firm after a tough year: no raises, reduced benefits, low billables firmwide, and the litigation group dissolved after the founding partner passed. Doing everything I can to land the next role.

I’ve been interviewing, but every other firm wants someone with at least one more year of experience. Any words of encouragement?

Network and explain. One year vs. two isn't lethal, but if you can explain your story to someone inside the target new employer and have them promote you to the hiring committee, then you'll have a good shot. Ideally emphasize that your training so far has been great-- the positive of hiring person with 2+ years of experience is that they are already trained up pretty well and can hit the ground running.

If that's not you, then you've still got to make your pitch anyway. It might be you and you don't even know it.

You are very junior. You have to embrace that. Don't try to play big shot-- your play is "I had a bit of bad luck, but I've learned a lot and I'm ready to hit the ground running and learn a lot more; I'm here to work hard and be useful"

The boutique RE firm I'm at is hiring. Please DM if you'd like to find out more.

Hi everyone.
Just reached final on-site round for a Senior Manager position in the logistics department. Role is for Amazon UK. Recruiter is asking me now for my expected compensation (base salary + total comp) via email. Any idea what to aim for?

I don’t know the level but was aiming £80k base, +15% bonus. If I don’t fall under their budget, would I automatically be removed from candidates?
Any tips are appreciated!

I have joined a company on 4th Feb, through consultancy on contract to hire basis.
I only received the job offer letter from the consultancy, but no Appointment Letter is given yet.
So since it's 10-15 day, since I joined. Can I leave this company, since I've got a better offer, with my suitable location.
PS: I have also received the laptop, but didn't login or do anything yet.
Please help me, can I still leave the company? And return the laptop to them. Or I have to continue here itself?
