Having worked in public accounting firms in 2 tropical countries where temps are perpetually in the 3 digits (and upto 122 couple of times in the summer), we were still expected to wear suits and blazers with no casual Fridays whatsoever, Assuming you are a female individual, your best bet would be to invest in some linen and pure cotton dresses/suits.. professional and breathable :)
It's so cold in our office, we could raise penguins or store meat. every office I've worked in has been like that.
Also when you lax the dresscode, there will always be the 'one's who will look like they just came from the beach or the club! LOL!
And what about this for men? Look, it has a collar, totally professional
NO!!!! JUST NO!!
The problem is that the office building will still be at 68 degrees so you’re gonna hate that you don’t have clothes on once you’re inside
Not when it’s 100 outside, very jarring lol
I call this the 90 degree rule. Polo and shorts if over 90.
You people are all weak!
A former boss we had wanted us to wear 3 piece suits no matter the temp outside. Now go to the subway tunnels for a few minutes and see how you look it you go in like that.
I almost passed out from heat exhaustion just reading this comment.

Depends on the environment. If you’re a controller at a manufacturing plant, sure. If you work somewhere that clients are commonly brought into the office (e.g. a public accounting firm), I’d say no. Imagine you walk into your CPA’s office who you pay $250k+ in annual fees… and everyone’s wearing flip flops, shorts, t shirts. It’s just not a good look. Even if you don’t have an important meeting, you don’t know who else at your office does.
I too draw the line at flip flops. Toes are scary
No
What do you want to wear? Shorts and a tank top?
All you need is one person who was forced to dress formally dies from excessive heat and the bad press alone would be powerful. Then the lawsuit
If Delta wants to wear oakleys, that’s their business
I agree, how else are we going to show off our gym gains 💪
Just change to spring/summer weight materials and roll up your sleeves.. and yes, once inside hopefully they have the AC on full blast... you may need the sleeves..
Nah, suns out guns out 💪🏿
why? Isn't your office air conditioned?
I agree, probably not a tank top. But if you don’t have any client facing activities for that day, who really cares
Yes i well
Polo shirts, khaki or navy shorts with socks and comfortable shoes for back office is fine in my book front office has to wear long pants but polo shirts are still ok...NO to sleeveless shirts/tops
Absolutely not. You're inside. It's not 102 inside the office. You'll be fine.
