Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

No one cares what's on your wrist except watch nerds. If you like it, wear it. FC makes great watches and their thing is the "open heart" window. Some people nag that this is reserved only for tourbillons but pox on them. It gives great balance to the moonphase on this dial.

Not a bad looking dress watch. Would be better without the window on the dial IMO. Crown is also very small.
I thought that was a pretty reputable brand. Worth the buy.

Aesthetically, it’s a pretty watch. FC borrows a lot of styling cues from Blancpain (case) and Breguet (dial/numerals/hands). Obviously FC sits at a different level as those two, but if you like the style, why not, just know that FC depreciates a ton, and lots of discounts to be had.
If you like it. Buy it and celebrate it.
Is the brand perception of FC. Slap a breguet name plate of the dial and it's worth $20k for tourb. Lol.. Def no love for the name but for value, it's decent. Like those have said buy it if you like it but know that some people will question why. Can't make everyone happy.
That isn’t a tourbillon, it’s just a cutaway (“open heart”). Breguet would be $200k+ for a tourbillon lol.
C1 yes, they have some good value at their price and you can often find good deals on the grey market
I own a FC world timer and I love it. Gets as much wear as my OP. They make good watches. As others said… if your goal is not to impress watch nerds , but what you like and you’ll be happy. Watch nerds get all hot and bothered over Nomos. I’d rather have a FC. Personal taste.
