1. Most companies will not provide relocation so be up front that this move is on your dime to increase your chances. 2. Have a realistic target date for move and a valid reason for why you are relocating. 3. Ensure that they get a sense that you are moving permanently and not just test driving a new location —even though no job is 100% secure, for some reason employers act like they are only interested in candidates that will stay indefinitely despite turnover, layoffs, etc.
