I have hit my wall. I cannot do public accounting any longer. I cannot deal with the constant focus on compliance, billable hour and the general unproductive behaviors/mindsets. I remember a day when we were here to help clients. Now I just feel like we are here to bill clients. I want to go help someone build something.
Now I just need to figure out how a director with a tax background can have transferable skills to something else...

Any one make a move from fund admin after big 4 assurance and then was able to make a pivot to a PE fund accounting team? I am considering moving to a fund admin now. Have 9+ years of big four experience. Worried that I can get stuck in fund admin.
