Gov folks should consider pivoting to private sector roles. Glad to help with pt consulting roles if you want to explore this.
Post your resume on ClearedJobs.net and use your clearance while it still lasts to get a prime job. There are thousands of jobs seeking people with clearance only doing the same jobs that government people do (program managers, IC experts, etc.
I had this same thought process yesterday. I don’t want to wait around and find out so I’ve started applying for roles in the private sector.
You would do well in private contracting firms that are constantly seeking firmer government people to work for them for a few key reasons. The bigger firms also have private sector customers so you’re covered. Go on Indeed.com and LinkedIn jobs. Set your search parameters and see that are tons of jobs out there right now. Salaries are from $140K to $300K in Business Development, afield that relies heavily on who you know and talking with them to get a pulse on programs, contracts, pain points, etc.
There's zero risk to hunting for offers and leaving if you get one. The OP is being dramatic.
The dumb thing to do is to resign empty handed.
Now that sounds really intresting
