I have had several rounds of interviews for a role at Visa London office. When I reached out to the HR to check on progress/status after what they called the "final round", they said everything is positive and then set up another round with the hiring manager last week. TBH, that round seemed as if they want to make sure I have understood the job well. And there has been radio silence after that. Any idea how to read this? I have another offer and deliberating if i should just accept that.

What will the project dynamics be on a project staffed with 3mdps, a PL, and myself, a summer UG intern? Just got staffed and will be hearing more on Monday from the team, but it came across as an interesting staffing composition.
Have the feeling I'll be making quite a few slides as the only junior. Anyone staffed on a similar case composition?

I’ve had conversations with recruiters saying they’re only looking for McKinsey or BCG profiles so I would say yes, for sure there are some more opportunities.
How many more I don’t know. But think the majority of roles will likely hire from any consulting firm!
Thanks!
Honestly unless you want to do strategy work do not work for MBB. Much more tangible work experience at the big 4s. For some reason MBB still has an allure due to selection process.
Wow that’s my first time seeing that analysis and might be my first time reading an analysis that’s fundamentally flawed at every single step 😅
BCG1 we’re not qualified to directly step into F500 CEO roles. But we’re definitely qualified to lateral into senior management roles, where we can prove our operational ability and progress from there.
From experience I'd say yes absolutely it does make an impact to exit opps in general. That said, I would also caution there may be regional variations to how far that slant goes - likely due to diff perceptions of mbb.
Been in big 4 and McK before. There was def more quantity and quality of the roles coming along when in mbb vs in big 4, even with the down leveling (it matters little - at least it did for my region of the world).
Does this mean though that the exit opps come always come with better comp and wlb, as per your question? Not sure and I wouldn't expect it to be. I'm sure folks in big 4 end up in solid roles in tech, as you mention, or elsewhere with good comp + wlb. That said, is there perhaps a higher probability when in mbb? I think so, from personal exp and from close friends in the industry in big 4's/Acn.
We pay more at every level which really helps with the exits since it sets a high floor under your comp.
Our comp is pretty standardised within a reasonably tight band for each level
Yes, the exit opps are better. We get headhunters reaching out all the time specifically looking for MBB candidates and as BCG2 said, most of them know what we make and are prepared to offer above current compensation.
Also, our ASC pay is likely higher than EM pay at most firms other than MBB and T2. ASC -> EM can also be a fast promotion if you choose (and compensation is based on performance, not designation).
Short term I think the consensus was a level down may not be beneficial but if you can stand another 3-5 they promote quite fast anyway.
And unfortunately I have been told a company only spoke with MBB for strategy roles. Which just sounds... more one-sided and expensive than anything haha.
What do managing directors make at Deloitte for example all in?
Less than their peers at BCG for sure
Yup agreed… My head gets reached out almost every other week by a hunter even though I only joined recently . 😂
