Lucky are the folks with generational wealth. Just met someone who owns 5 properties, none of which he had to buy, all handed down. Now he just manages all these properties and lives like a king. Some people truly are blessed.

Envy is one of the deadly sins. Go and create your own generational wealth, let this be a motivation instead.

I have clients that have had real estate passed down to them… mostly commercial, apartment complexes & large swaths of land…

5 properties can mean anything… 5 single family houses, you probably still need to work…

like

But 5 paid off houses, even making a 1000 each, is more than enough for me. I wouldn't work lol.

It makes me even more determined to be the first one in my line to create it, so the next generation in my family gets to “just manage” instead of constantly start from zero.

Hey y'all, kind of a two part question:
1. I enjoy the people management more than individual contributor stuff. What career paths do you see in our industry for people who are managing support engineering teams?
2. What certifications are valued today? Seems like being a AWS Cloud Practitioner is a good general one, but are there others that stand out?

If I'm adding multiple people to purchase a property but not on the mortgage, when do they get added - do they need to already be on the purchase agreement? I heard it's easier to do upfront vs. adding them later. I've asked this question in a thread but didn't get a clear response. If someone could please help clarify - how do I add other people on the onset on buying a property? This is a new build, buying directly from the builder.

Hi - any good books recommendations for getting started on real estate investing?

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!
