I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

I miss music. Like actual bands with instruments and vocal ability. Feels like the music industry is so hollowed out that multi-member instrumental bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and even Metallica are no longer able to take root.

There are a few talented individual singers (Adele) a lot of awful mumble rappers, but no actual bands that will stand the test of time. Before I get called a Boomer, the problems with the music industry for new artists are well documented.

Please comment down company giving work from anywhere/remote jobs.

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. New to fish bowl. I have been an insurance adjuster for 25 years. I work for State Auto Insurance. I have been with State Auto for a little over a year and to be honest it’s been the best insurance carrier I have worked for. They are hands off and let your claims experience run the claim process. The work culture is fantastic. Recently it was announced that Liberty Mutual would be acquiring State Auto. To say I’m a little disappointed is an understatement. Any thoughts from people that know LM?

For a position as an underwriter at State Farm- I know they provide training, but is it helpful to take an online course in property and casualty and then take the licensure exam on my own?
