Money conversations in relationships can get complicated. You might be doing okay, covering your needs, growing steadily, then pressure starts to build from your partner to earn more. Sometimes it’s direct. Sometimes it shows up in subtle comments or comparisons. It can start to affect how you see your progress. Have you ever felt this kind of pressure, and how did you handle it?

Money pressure in relationships is rarely just about money, it’s about expectations, security, and how each person defines "progress." The tricky part is when one partner’s timeline becomes the other’s burden.
I’ve found the healthiest way to handle it is to bring everything into the open early, what "enough" looks like, what pace feels sustainable, and what success actually means to each person. Without that clarity, even subtle comments can start to feel like judgment.
At the end of the day, growth should feel like a shared journey, not a silent competition.

I kicked her out.

Tell your partner to take their own advise and to go earn more.

I’ve never been in any kind of relationship, but I feel like some pressure within reason would be good if it’s trying to get you to live up to your potential. I think it would only be a problem if it’s displaced or intend selfishly to help support more personal wants at the expense of the other party.

I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.

What is the best way to begin a transition from a help desk job to an actual career path in IT? I’m getting close to being at my current job for a year, however I have a lot of experience in the tech field, which is what landed me this job without any actual IT background. I definitely feel over qualified and under paid in the position I am in now, and looking for the next step towards an IT career. Any advice would not fall on deaf ears. TIA

Hi everyone, a question to the tech industry at large.

Why are people so hesitant to hire disabled candidates?

I am a visually impaired practitioner in South Africa, with 7 years of experience, and as soon as recruiters or business owners hear/read that I'm disabled, the conversation gets awkward and I never hear from them again.
