How long are you planning to rent it before selling (or moving back in)? Probably wouldn’t renovate unless it’s gonna increase your rent/cash flow.
Not sure, maybe 3 years or so before selling. It’s a bit outdated but not bad, think 90’s generic tile apartment converted to a condo.
I would renovate before selling. Everyone’s looking for a rental right now, updated or not it will rent.
Yeah but I could raise the rent and also attract more renters

What upgrades would you do? How much would they cost? How much would it raise rent? How much opportunity for damage or repairs would it increase compared to just doing it before you sell?
If you’re planning to take advantage of the homestead exemption when you sell, make sure you keep an eye on how much time has passed.
I want to refinish the bathtub and lay down some vinyl flooring in the bathroom. It’s kinda outdated so an upgraded bathroom would attract more renters.
