You will be able to meet people don't worry, we (advertising manager, senior consultant, other manager and i) make plans to have pizza almost every other weekend in NY
Chief
To be fair, i mostly make plans.

Come on, NYC you will meet so many people

That's gonna be stuck in my head now
If you can’t meet new people in the most densely populated, entertainment-filled, social city on Earth, then you have much bigger issues going on
Like whatever social skill issue that’s driving that inability? Bottom line, it sounds pretty severe. Nobody will have trouble with that
I was afraid of moving to Seattle from the Midwest not only because I felt introverted and afraid to be myself in Kansas City but also because Seattle is NOTORIOUS for the “Seattle Freeze” and it wasn’t too bad. I rejoined Facebook and jumped into a few girls groups and found some stuff on MeetUp that peaked my interest and now I have a running group and friends to go to concerts with that I certainly didn’t have in the Midwest.
Things will be A-Ok, and even if it takes time to make those friends, you’ll learn to go out and do things yourself and learn about this new big and exciting city you’re in, and what’s more awesome than that? 💜

There are myriad ways to meet people in a city the size of NYC. It's really up to you to look for events and keep putting yourself out there. Also gotta have patience.

It can be hard to make friends there! My department was all males and I didn’t really make friends at work. I became super close with my roommate.
I also used bumble bff and met one of my now best friends through the app. Definitely a little weird to use an app, but there were so many other people like me just trying to make their own friends. My other friend also used the app when she moved to Charlotte and that’s how she met all her friends.

Opinion from someone moving out of NYC soon after being here for a while.
It’s extremely extremely easy to meet new people and start new relationships in NYC, it’s maintaining the relationships that’s difficult. Takes so much effort

You will meet so many people willingy or not. When desperate to escape them hide in church, place where people finally shut up.
No, I go to a church for peace of mind not to join the prayers.

NYC is a desert, no one lives there! Don't move! Thank me later!
Check out zogs or NY urban professionals sports leagues... Some are competitive, some are totally recreational depending on what you are into ... But you will meet a ton of people and it's very social as most teams go out for drinks after games.

This is not a place to move to if you’re easily scared, especially if you’re scared of new people. You should stay put for everyone’s sake 😊

Lawyers be lawyering
You’ll meet a lot of people as long as you put in the work to socialize and meet people. It’s NYC, there’s tons of people of all different backgrounds living and working here.
