How do you build rapport with your colleagues?

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

I was on a tour but where I asked a couple of older women sitting behind me to speak softly as it was 6:30 am in the morning. After that they kept saying loudly that i’m smelling and that i need to use deo and that i should keep my arm down. I confronted them later and they said respect your elders?? I want to ruin their vacation. What else can I do?

I have accepted an offer for the role of Director of Data Science & Analytics and I'll be working with old colleagues. I am very excited. I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

Starting to feel a little defeated. How do you deal with an executive that works on their calendar too? And doesn’t really give you full control? I was moving things around making a meeting work and then my executive moved everything around and screwed up everything I worked on.

How to deal with people flirting with you at work.
I’m married, and one of my coworkers flirts with me. Nothing super overt, but definitely not professional. We’re good friends and work together constantly because we’re on the same client, so I don’t want to make it awkward. Do I just do nothing and let it go? I think Im a pretty good/almost high performer but only around 3 years and my boss seems to still act like I’m brand new (lifer boomer). I try to tell myself he has 6 direct reports and has to do this with everyone, Im no more or no less special - but I hate these convos and negative feedback even when most of it is unsurprising/fair feedback.
