I really recommend Bothwell in Torrance but they are only open M-F and get very busy. Run by a very nice family
Honestly it's probably bc car wasn't run for so long. It's not good for them to just sit even for a month. So might need some flushes / fluid changes.
A check engine light could be anything. A loose gas cap will turn on the light. It could be bad gas if your car has set for a year. It could be a bad sensor or other things. Letting your car sit without running for a year is really bad for it. You can literally ruin a car doing that.
Yeah we’re going to do that tomorrow.
Ummm smog fixes are not usually that expensive? When I had to get mine done 3-4 years ago I was charged $200 total for the fix and the certification for registration. The check itself is between $30 - $70
I went to Pep Boys
Thank you everyone. This is my first car so I’m not well versed in car stuff but thank you! I was worried this would be a fix that would cost a couple grand. The manual made it sound worse than it is.
Go to AutoZone and ask to borrow their code reader. It’ll tell you exactly what’s wrong. Check engine light is often emissions (if it is likely just a sensor) but not necessarily.
Oh great. I’ll head there tomorrow, thank you.
