Committing from Pasadena to century city will be hell. Like an hour each way.
You probably won’t find a newish building for 2k, except maybe for a small studio. How far are you willing to commute daily?
Yeah seems like it … I’d be ok with ~45 and TOPS an hour. Seems like somethings gonna have to give

As A1 mentioned, don’t move to Pasadena. Your commute will be hell.
Your best bet is going to be getting a roommate. You can likely afford parking and a newish building if you share a 2 bd with someone. In LA you should always try and live close to work or you’ll hate your life. Your best bet is likely Sawtelle, but also look at Brentwood, West Hollywood, around the Grove and Culver City.
Gotcha thanks for the neighborhood recs. Grove would be ideal but seems more expensive, but I’ll keep sifting thru Zillow.
You aren’t getting a newish building, parking, and a reasonable commute for $2K unless you are talking about a studio. If you are talking 1b apartments you’ll get 1 of 3 if you are lucky. Which means budgeting around $3K to get two of those. All three will put you well over $3K.
If you are fixed on budget and single, I recommend finding a roommate who also can go to $2K and find a nice 2 bedroom for your shared total.
Yes this 100%. Look in Palms Culver and Sawtelle to be close to century city.
Very hard due to the spike in rent. I am paying slightly over 2k including parking but it was last year and I see that the rent spiked 10% compared to the last year.
Tough to go alone with that budget, may need a Flatmate. 2 bedroom with a 2 parking lots is much
More doable for 3.5-4 ish
This is true
Sherman Oaks, Studio City, & Burbank would keep your commute short

Yeah studio city and Burbank make no sense commute wise. Sherman oaks might be okay but the 405 is terrible and I don’t think Sherman oaks is the best place to live for your first time moving to LA.
I live in a studio right outside of ktown and meet all the reqs you listed, though I moved here over a year ago. The commute might be pushing your hour max limit depending on when you leave in the morning
