Is anyone aware of an FMLA law that requires you to work 30 days for your employer before leaving?
I came across a website that mentioned that law which is why I mentioned it
Did you carry your health insurance or did your spouse/partner (if applicable)?
Some companies want to see repayment of health insurance premiums from your time on maternity leave if you carried the insurance. If someone else carried it, it shouldn’t be any different than quitting.
I don’t work in HR, but my husband was on medical leave and found a new job while on leave, so we looked into what would happen. I carried the insurance, so it was just a matter of quitting one job and going to the next for him.
I do carry the insurance, so I wouldn’t want to pay back the premiums
