My designer doesn’t read feedback edits unless they pertain to design.

Many projects they will just not add in the edits unless I go into the doc & highlight where all the changes are (I get it can get confusing so I do this on complicated copy edit jobs, but when it’s just a single copy edit I have to do the same). I get pinged by AE asking why copy edits weren’t made & I will then dm the designer & go through all the edits. Is there a good way to go about this without sounding like a jerk?
