“My” designer :/
Truly nothing wrong with the 'my' in this instance. Resume normal activities. Nothing to see here.
Designers can’t read. That’s why they have a copy partner.
Who has the time?! I’ve got pixels to push, text boxes to align, and charts to adjust
Your words are just another shape
Designers do a ton of the heavy lifting on the back end, as copywriters this is our way of taking some of the burden on the front end. I've felt the same way before, but I'm not the one stuck versioning assets or dealing with files at the end of the project. It all evens out.
If it’s words, It’s your job to care about them. Not theirs.
Always highlight them. Or, better yet, ask them to make as much as possible editable in your shared deck.
Devils advocate as an art person…sometimes comments can seem conversational or can be filtered accidentally depending on routing software. It might be helpful to call out “art action” or “action”. You could also reach out to them and ask if there’s a better way for you to mark up changes that should be incorporated (it should really be coming as an ask from art but still). Sometimes we zone out :)
There’s a good way to go about this and it starts with you stop referring to this person as “your” designer.
We get paired together on most jobs. They call me their copywriter? Their title is graphic designer. I’m not really seeing the issue? We say that to each other all the time. Is there something wrong with that?
If you’re using google docs, you can just tag this person and assign it to them
Background: The designer & I are the same age but they have worked here 2yr longer than me.
Unless you want to learn adobe, my suggestion is just highlight your changes in the copy doc
