Subaru > Tesla
I think the Model S is still pretty good-looking, but I do not at all care for the rest of the lineup. Even if I did, I won’t consider buying them because of my feelings about Musk and not wanting to support his business.
I don’t give much thought to the drivers.
Anti-Tesla. Nothing against EVs but my old man take is that I only want my car doing what I tell it to do. I don’t trust automated driving and all these new smart features. Also Elon is a clown and I don’t want to be funding him.
I have a 4runner with something similar that kicks in for cruise control. It makes passing on the highway tough because it tries to slow me as I approach. Haven’t found a setting that helps. The braking alert has admittedly saved my fender once or twice.
Subaru Outback gang
They’re the new BMW drivers to me. I assume they’re tools, but I know that’s not the case. I would never consider buying a Tesla myself, but I do want an EV eventually.
We just got one but I wouldn’t say we fit the typical mold people think of. We got the model Y. We got it for a few reasons: spacious for the car seats. Safety, extra space for all the damn kid stuff while staying compact. Convenience of never needing to get gas is great when we feel like we are already so low on time. The dog mode is really handy living in a super hot climate with children and pets. Other reasons I’m sure my significant other wanted it but those were big for me specifically. So far it’s been lovely.
Teslas are sick
Got my Model Y last month after 11 months on the waitlist. I didn’t buy full self driving and haven’t been on a long trip yet to see how valuable Autopilot might be. I’m very happy with the performance, love not having to go to the gas station and can charge it in my garage at night whenever needed.
We plan to use it for longer trips when we go. The navigation software routes you on a path with charging stations and tells you how long you should charge at each one to get to your destination in the fastest way possible.
I’ve invested a lot more in Tesla stock since getting on the waitlist. The demand is insane. The scaling of production is unparalleled in automotive. Their charging network and autonomous driving software if licensed in the future will unlock huge value. I believe TSLA is still very cheap.
I think they are typical luxury car drivers… some are cool, others are tools.
I’m on my 2nd, it’s really nice for camping
How much does it cost to charge an EV ?
