It's disturbing, but consider that the new US attorney general has threatened to prosecute companies in the private sector if they use policies based on race and gender. The new official federal policy is, you guessed it, the real victims of discrimination are white men. She issued a memo about this on February 5th, her first day on the job. So a lot of companies are nervous about having the federal government bully them, or, actually prosecute them. And, if you want to leave your present company, where do you go?

No idea where I’d go. I’m JUST hit year 3 of my five year plan today, so I’m planning to stick it out for two more at the least. The attacks on Black and Brown people are disgusting but millions of people voted for this mess.
I am starting to see a trend where even when a company states they are winding down DEI efforts, individuals within those companies are now going out of their way to make sure there is more of a fair playing field internally. Widening the places they search for new employees (as opposed to 10 years ago, I mean), or making sure more potential vendors are looped in, etc. It’s almost as if they are actually doing the work now, while their companies where simply going through the motions without much actual progress before.
