Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

Apply for jobs RIGHT NOW. Like polish up that resume this weekend. Screw your boss, they suck! From this post, that's terrible leadership, and they don't deserve your work.
You haven't been looking since July? Why even allow yourself to be in that position?
Asking with kindness, why would you want to stay? Do you think the culture will change for the better?
Understandable. Are there other options (contracting, etc.) that can show continuity but also get you out? Those kind of environments take a terrible toll. Sorry you are dealing with this.
Ahh, you haven't left yet? LWTF?! Walk away with your head high and tell them to kiss your 🤬
Start looking for another job. If you die tomorrow they will have your job on indeed by the end of the day. Protect your peace. No good for your health and wellbeing to be stressed.

Ask for a package. It’s not worth your mental health. If they don’t want you they can sever you appropriately, otherwise they need to put you on an actual performance plan before letting you go.
Go find another job now. It will not get better and with the pressure you are under you can't be doing your best work.
Leave that toxic place immediately for the sake of your mental health.

If you’re not living paycheck to paycheck, just quit.
Then find a new job. You’re obviously not wanted or valued where you are.
Sometimes it's not that easy. For me my company has tremendous flexibility. When I had cancer they didn't send a get well card BUT I could come and go as I please. I was part time. One day the boss walked up to me and said "Go sign some papers I'm promoting you to full time with benefits." He also gave me a raise! He quit about two months later. I'm not mad at him. Company sucks....people and certain circumstances are great and workable. That may be this person's situation. He or she stays "because," and that's his/her right. Go "Petty" like "Betty." Don't get forced out. If you are forced out, make them regret it
Your boss is creating a “toxic work environment” report to HR immediately. This way if your employer fires you then you will still qualify for unemployment. Been through similar situation and I didn’t know about the “toxic work environment” clause in our employee handbook. I fought the dismissal and it went up to the unemployment board meeting, I lost. Now I know so much more about employment law
I’m sorry for your experience. That sounds awful and I hate that this is so common yet employers get away with it.
Is there anything you would have done in hindsight to help your case?
Sounds like we worked at the same place. Do you work for Mainsail?
And don’t forget the bible totin’ minister who lies through her sweaty teeth and the height challenged hobbit who only got the job because someone lost a bet.
Time to profile: This employer is what we'll call a "survivor." They have made it through every coaching conversation with their leaders by pointing to one of their direct reports' heads on the proverbial chopping block. They remain in their positions by sacrificing their employees.
In my corporate career, I had a leader like this. I responded to the last one "I'm happy to improve in every way possible, but threatening me with my livelihood will do nothing but cost me sleep." It worked to the extent that he stopped, but the damage was done and trust broken. With that, I'll echo everyone else in the bowl: Time to move on.
I get it! It's not easy to leave when you have bills to pay and mouths to feed. However, your sanity, peace of mind, and health are just as important. You need to leave but you need a plan. First, figure out what expenses you can cut. Second, know your numbers when it comes to salary needs. Finally, as already stated, get your resume out there targeting the roles that can pay you.
I left one job and took a huge pay cut just to get out. At first, it was scary as heck but in the end it paid off. The benefits, peace of mind, and great work environment was exactly what I needed. Plus, I get to work from home and the wife got to go back to college for free. That is saving us at least $40k so cannot complain.
You can do this! Get focused, take action, and keep pressing forward!
Send them job applications out everywhere. Get a different job. This ain't worth it. Then when you're have in your letter of resignation tell them that you're firing them from the position of the wrist manager you've ever had.
And walk the hell out of there laughing as they realise why they don't ever actually fire you.
Lots of advice to contact HR - talk to a lawyer before you do that.
Yes indeed because HR can be your worst move. I prefer the Labor Board. Companies that operate like that are always breaking the rules.
Last week!!! It sounds like they’re trying to make you quit eventually anyway. I do know the company I was working for was doing the same thing to hire on younger and other managers who would do the job for a lot less with no experience smh of course we can never prove it but the day I dreaded going to the job I loved and woke up crying knowing I had to go was my sign to leave!! No job is worth your sanity none!!
I had a job that made me physically sick once. That was because the boss was a racist and no one would stand up to him. There was an incident, clearly designed to fire me. I filed a grievance with the The Supreme Court of my State and I won. Yep. A year to the date after the boss had been sufficiently emasculated and afraid to walk down the same hall with me, I gave the Supreme Court my two week notice (which was not trickled down to him. Interesting huh?) On my last day he was like "you have to give notice" "Ummm you racist bastard, I gave notice:"
Him:"I have to get a Deputy to search you"
Me: "My purse has been at the Sheriff's Department since lunch. My vehicle has already been searched and I'm leaving with nothing in my hands" Sidenote: It was a Sheriff Deputy that has been friends with that boss for 20 years that pulled me aside and said " watch yourself. Now there are three blacks. He wanted the 2nd hire first but she's a daughter of a friend. The third hire was a joke because she is not suitable for the position. He is not gonna keep you for long, everyone thinks too highly of you" No kidding that's what he told me. Still I left on my own time. He black balled me, I couldn't get a county or state job but it was worth it. Any supervisor who can't stand up to a legendary racist, a**hat I don't want to work for. (They secretly told me this was why) I was sick because so much energy was required to stay ahead of him before I exited. He died recently. A lot of us were prepared to go toast his death at his gravesite but he was cremated. Isn't that unfortunate?
They want you to quit. Exchange a praising letter of recommendation for your resignation
Can you move somewhere else in the company until you find exactly what you want?
No job is worth diminishing your health like that. Sounds like childish management who doesn’t know your true worth because no one should be putting up with that kind of treatment!
Sounds like u should quit now
Those people sound dumb.
