I have an offer from Capco, it was much lower then I expected for the SC level EA at £80k. I'm at a stable role at a bank with a great WLB. My wife is a front line work. So I can take care of the baby, with the next coming soon. My dilemma is, become a consultant or stay where I am at. Consulting looks attractive as I would be speed up my career progression. Though the travel costs and child care does not warrant the base salary Capco Should I take the hit and join capco?
I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. This did not happen so I chased up. Today I received feedback from HR stating that the senior manager, who would have been my peer, said I didn't have enough experience. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.
Is this normal with EY recruitment
Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.

I’m not sure about office time since I joined after covid, but been here 20 years and there’s traffic almost everywhere. It really depends what you’re looking for - whether it’s the city lifestyle or a suburban one. If you have young kids I’d recommend the suburbs as it’s safer and Atlanta crime has been going up (inside the perimeter atleast)
You will generally never have to go to the office. You will likely need to go to the airport next year (but, depending on level, probably no more than once or twice a month). When I lived there, I used the MARTA to get to both. Pretty short journey from Doraville to either.
Ok thanks so much for your response. I really appreciate it!
I live in Kennesaw right off 75 and love it.
No worries thanks for your help!
If you want to be in the suburbs I’d say go for it! You can get much nicer and bigger houses for better prices, definitely worth the commute for when (if) you need to travel. Traffic to the airport will be bad once u hit the city anyways, but some suburbs have marta lines you can drive to and take the train from there. As for going into the office, I doubt that’d be an issue as no one really goes often. But even then, you can marta to the office as well!
Advisory m&a? Or consulting m&a? I would say advisory m&a is a little less travel and probably more in the office vs consulting is more likely client site
Thanks for your response. Much appreciated!
