my experience as a claims specialist in the roofing industry has been a great one, however the time has come to pivot to inside sales and consistency

That’s an awesome foundation to pivot from — having real experience in claims, especially in roofing, gives you a huge edge when it comes to understanding people’s needs and building trust.

If you’re looking to transition into sales, AO Globelife could be a strong next step. We focus on protecting families with union-backed benefits, and the sales process is consultative — not high pressure. There’s no cold calling, no door-to-door, and no lead buying. Plus, the income potential is uncapped with residuals, and all training is provided.

Are you a roofing salesman or a claims adjuster?

Would you take a paycut / same salary you were making to move from NYC to Philadelphia, if the role was an industry opportunity in the tech/product space and more aligned with your interests and career goals?

Always read about people moving to industry for 20%+ increases with RSUs, but the offer for my move is about the same I'm making now in NYC. Think I will take it anyway but curious to hear the consensus view.

Hi peeps!
Got two offers on the table, who love to hear your advice!

- Finance Business Partner for a late stage (Series D/valuation 3B) startup tech company

- Corp Dev analyst role for a listed niche gambling company

The tech job pays 15k more, but from what I can see will be a cluster and super long hours (has EU stakeholders). Maybe a pipe dream, but I want to have a "somewhat" decent wlb while still growing my career toward strategy and finance.

Thoughts on which one is better?

Hello fishes. Need some insurance advice.
My parents are dependent on me. My 62 yo dad and 57yo mom do some part time work and makes $1000/mon. Dad has some health complications like diabetes, high bp, genetic heart issues, liver problems etc. Does it make sense to get a life insurance for him - 20 yr term, $1M coverage. Premium is around $500. I am thinking I can pay the premium but if something happens to dad, it will help my mom pay be self-sufficient

Hi all,

I just got a job with Delta airlines and I had an accomodation request to work remotely as I am Immunocompromised. I provided all the neccesary documents to back up my request and letters and documents from my Dr. aswell. My request was denied because the team said they wanted me to have face time and one on one interactions with people from other team (which defeats the purpose of my request) because I have to limit those interactions to reduce the risk of infection. What do I do?

Currently a 2nd yr lit associate (big law) in NY considering a move to a TX big law firm for the financial opportunity. Would leave to hear thoughts on this type of move or from someone who’s done so!

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?
