I had an online assessment round at Intuit and then a technical round. Both went good. But its been 15 days I am yet to hear back from them. Does intuit send closure/rejection email or is it just implicit? also what is the cooling period for intuit ? and what should be the expected ctc if things go right? Go with the external offer, come back with a promotion to your current firm next year or whenever a more senior opportunity arises. Tell them how you feel, how you want to work for them, and how you would love to work with them if paths cross again
I’ve seen people network at 6 mos, get an internal verbal offer at 9 mos and do a long handover period (with their manager’s approval for an exception) to meet the 1 year tenure requirement, for example. Your manager may be annoyed but it’s not impossible. And I agree, keep interviewing externally and don’t count on anything internal.
Different people will tell you otherwise, but I would not divulge that you are interviewing externally unless you have an offer that you want to accept (and don’t think you need to). I would go to HR and tell them you have your managers support, continue to have “informal coffee chats” with the hiring manager/team and tell them the same, if it’s a foregone conclusion that they want to hire you for the role, they can negotiate with HR for that to happen.
