OP, you're an idiot. Only valid point you might of had is that the f150 is pretty high to get into, this could be an issue if you're wearing a fitted suit.
I also have a truck as a weekend driver cause it's fun and can haul a lot of stuff from one house to the next. I live in Manhattan and it's parked at my place in PA.
Is nobody going to take up his challenge on the math?
Cost side... let’s say the average car is 30mpg (a stretch in the US but let’s go with it).
1/30 gal per mile * $3/gal = ~9 cents per mile
Let’s say the f150 gets 20mpg (I think the new ones are higher but let’s go with it.)
1/20 gal per mile * $3 / gal = ~15 cents per mile
So the f150 is losing out on 6 cents per mile. Reimbursement rates which track vehicle ownership costs are just under 60 cents per mile.
A quick uber estimate says it’s 15 dollars for a 10 mile ride in a low cost suburb of the US. that’s $1.50 per mile and drivers get 80% or $1.20 per mile.
An average driver makes 60 cents per mile whereas the f150 driver makes 54 cents per mile.
Driver is losing 6 cents of margin per mile or 5% of revenue. This doesn’t account for personal enjoyment gains and is a conservative estimate (ie. f150 gets better than 20, I bet the average car is less than 30mpg, and driver may see work revenue from owning a truck)
Conclusion: I think it’s fine, and this manager OP is just being a bit judgmental.
My United captain rolled up this morning at 6am in an Airbus 319 🤔😳🤦♂️
What's the problem?
Order a uber black if you're going to be a diva about it
Op is the manager who heavily judges an analyst for wearing a brown belt with black shoes
Brown belt with black shoes? Always a no-no. Judge away for that one!
I was in a suit trying to go to the office not hunting/fishing for the day...if you were an Uber driver would you be picking up folks in F-150? It also makes no economic sense...the cost of the ride vs. the gas + Uber’s cut. Do the math Analyst
^i have a problem with that as well, don't give a shit if my uber is rolling in a dually or Lincoln
F150 much safer than a prius
What’s the officer, problem?
OP is obviously not from Texas otherwise he wouldn't feel the need to post when a truck rolls up. Might want to visit Texas to grow some balls though.
Again, what's the problem?
Sweet.
I only have an f250, so you would be even more disappointed. Its diesel and gets 20 mpg, so your argument isn't that valid. You should probably look up what f150 actually get for fuel millage
You’re a tool, you have time to decline the Uber ride. Stop bitching.
Every man in my family drives a Ford truck, they are successful business owners and make more than most MDs and Partners. Stop judging.
Op is an idiot. Maybe that driver uses the truck for his primary source of income (construction, project management, mechanic, electrician, agriculture). There are a lot of ways people make money without a Harvard degree and a snotty attitude.
Maybe he has a boat/4wheeler, maybe he likes working in his garage or on his property.
Men drive trucks. All other vehicles are for woman and city folks.
If it makes you feel any better he was probably just as disappointed to learn he had to pick up your lame ass...
