Whatever you do, don't post your resume on indeed.
Does anyone else think leaving after one year is too soon?
I know who you are, downtown bank girl.
They spam your email. It's annoying.
I just went thru the job search process, used LinkedIn premium, indeed, monster and the career sites for the top places I wanted to work at. I was laid off after a year so I didn't have a choice, but i spun it as an opp to reevaluate what my career goals are (which aren't consulting) and hat I didn't want to travel. I think with only 1 year you'll have to do a lot more networking since your resume won't speak for itself that much but it's doable. Just be prepared to spin your experience and skills
Guessing HR from our firms monitors the resumes on Indeed?
Good advice on what not to do. How about what to do
Well what do you want to do? What are your skills in? Brush up your LinkedIn and search away.
How valuable is LinkedIn as a job search tool?
Why leaving after just 1 year?
Consulting in general sucks but no prospect of good /interesting work in my practice tbh (MC FS)
What industry are you pivoting to?
I'm in healthcare. Was in pharma at Pwc, didn't like it but liked healthcare as a field. Now I'm in med devices/supplies
@PwC did you have to take a pay cut? Looking to leave too but would want at least a 10% raise.
I thought I would, but their first offer matched my Pwc salary (60) and I negotiated to 63. I also don't have experience in the job I took and the range for that position goes to 64. You gotta remember that you have slightly more experience than a recent grad and that no one outside of consulting and IB is getting paid as much as consultants right out of school. I'm happy with that slight bump bc I'm very interested in the job and I don't have to travel or work insane hours
Im in the same boat. Probably going to leave after my first two years. Going to couple the job switch with a move, so it's a natural transition
Grass isn't always greener
Just started the job search and got an offer with industry. Used LinkedIn mainly to reconnect with former colleagues and classmates and did several informationals that led to a few interviews. Surprising how many people will talk to you about their experiences if you just ask and buy them coffee.
