Need advice on contracting role vs. full time.
Currently in the public service in an analyst position with salary of $111,000, expected raise of 3% (their raises are low). I've been approached for a contracting position (12 months with possibly renewal) with similar job profile and $100/hr rate which works out to $195,000 of all 52 weeks are billed (unlikely). I've never worked as a contractor and was wondering if this is with us worth it or should I wait for a better full-time position? Thanks!

Thanks that's a good point as well. I think I'll perhaps wait for a better full time opportunity before making a switch. Appreciate the advice :)

Contract Role- Please

Any reasons why? Aren't contracting roles more volatile as well? Appreciate your thoughts, thanks for the reply

at that pay I'd choose the contract role provided that the staffing firm is highly reputable one. $100 is outrageous for an analyst role

When negotiating Salary, do you mention Glassdoor, Levels.fyi, or a separate source? Or neither?? Looking at a role I’m currently a candidate for and the discrepancy of pay between Glassdoor and Levels.fyi is absurd (IE Glassdoor average salary is almost 40K higher than Levels.fyi) Glassdoor also has more “data points”, for lack of a better term, than Levels.fyi for this role.

Thoughts??

Suggestions needed. Got offer from other Big4s with same money offer. Got to talk to very great partners, and practices/work-life balance are very similar across all 3 firms. Currently more toward DT but only cuz I know more people there so I feel less nervous going there. When it comes to turning down offers, what other professional reasons can I provide?
