This seems fairly low for an EM, especially in SF. How long have you been looking? A lot of companies are trying to down level managers at MBB just because the market is a little tough, but there are still better comp opportunities out there. I just left BCG at Pl for $325k comp in not a HCOL city for reference.
2 months is pretty short and 3 final interviews in that timeframe is great. I’m not sure your financial/family situation but I would assume you would get something better.
For context - I looked last fall while still working and was getting 0 bites, and then took transition at the start of the year and had three offers in 3 months.
0 bonus feels weird, I mean I guess the equity is sorta your bonus but it's like 10% when you should be at least 20-25
That's how they positioned it. After 1y cliff equity vests quarterly

That’s on the lower end mate, unless you have no other choice and/or must have a job…I would look for better options
How does this compare to your current comp? Big step down I think from EM? Though, if you’ve been out for a year and need to jump back into something, it may be the move. Market is rough (per your 3-final rounds). If it aligns well with longer term goals (comp aside), it could serve as a good temporary role while you keep looking and job market improves
Yeah, that level of comp step down isn’t ideal (leverage aside) and you should trust your gut on the promo timeline vagueness (it sounds like hogwash IMO). 6-month runway is solid but this market feels like you could burn through that faster than you think. Fundamentally, still early career stage so, should focus more on how well the role fits in larger goals and then whether it could be utilized as a launch pad may be the right move for you. Some level of knowing yourself and risk-appetite is involved here. I’m fairly risk-averse so would say a “bird in hand”, take it and then keep looking (aiming to have quick impact but exit relatively soon-ish). Might even be easier to get next role being currently employed versus coming off sabbatical.
How is it a $0 bonus…
Guys, reality check, market is flooded with mbb consultants
Seems like hiring has picked up to me
I’m the first person to say that people on this app are out of touch about what’s good pay, but 250 in SF considering you’re an EM is tough. In a more affordable city it might be worth it if you anticipated good wlb, but I would be incredibly hesitant here.
