New to consulting (and being employed in general) even though I’m in my mid-30s. Don’t wanna mess this up; too old/too late in the game to have any leeway. What advice would you give me for success?

I started in mid-30s too No one cares how old you are. They do care about your attitude and your ability to take/apply feedback quickly.

I joined consulting later in life as well. You don’t need to think that way. You can make mistakes and still be successful. Don’t stress yourself out.

2nd piece: I found that my peers were quick to look at me as a leader and for advice due to my age. I leaned on this to move up quickly through the ranks as people saw me leading people early on. Don’t be negative about your age gap, use it to your advantage by leaning on your life lessons.

My 2 cents be humble be like able, and grow a thick skin. Don’t be obsessed about the rat race and the age factor for the first 3 years, work hard put your beat foot forward the rest trust me will fill into place; you will be strategic and valued just not now

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Hello all,

Would like to know specifically about Queer inclusion at SocGen

Can anyone from EY provide some insight into their experience leaving the firm? I put in my two weeks and have a meeting with HR. Just trying to figure out what to expect.
