Not sure if this is the place to share this but i hit a pole a few months ago and there was no damage to the pole just my car. it was covid and i was in the process of moving/ the car was mostly fine so i didn’t file a claim. Now i find out it will cost 3k + out of pocket to fix. do i report it to the insurance company or is it too late?

What should be my next career step.

I have 5 yoe (4+1 pre-post exp from Tier 2 MBA college) in banking and insurance IT projects(coding and later BA role)

Which type of company should I try to switch considering future impact(WLB-ROLE-onsite) on my career progression.
1. Banking companies like Citi, JP etc. (best role/division to aim ?)
2. WITCH companies(current workex is in two such service based firms)

Covid Vaccine ethics: you are in charge of a country that has a huge marginalized community (proven to be disproportionately impacted by Covid). If you were in charge of coming up with a vaccination distribution prioritization schedule, what groups would would you prioritize first and why?

My sister works at a company that is so backward and toxic it scares me. They didn’t have Skype before the pandemic and now use Zoom. She’s trying to get a laptop to WFH with b/c the one that they issued her is from 2005 and is a nightmare to work with, but her boss wants to save money and get her a desktop instead of a laptop b/c they won’t be working from home after COVID. However, he has no problem ordering the newest equipment and WFH himself even before COVID. All I gotta say is toxic.

How are you balancing health and wellness with demanding work schedules? Since COVID I have observed many of my non BIPOC peers working out during the work day. My calendar looks like Tetris and requires a ton of video calls. Shy of me working out at 0-dark-30 or late at night, I can’t see how I could possibly work out during the work day. What works for you? Clearly I’m doing something wrong.

Office policy is if you’re fully vaxxed and have close contact with a person with COVID, you can still come in the office but have to be masked. Then you must test 5 days later. My husband tested positive after having symptoms 4 days prior that he thought were allergies. I was negative. My supervising atty says I’m fine for in office but I ended up staying home a day to make sure hubby is okay. Do you think this will be frowned upon? We had someone in the hospital with COVID recently. Paranoid

Need advice: if my roomate is not taking precautions to prevent contracting covid when shes not home is that enough reason to break the lease and move out?

Planning to book a return Qatar airways flight to India with return in October. Anyone have any experience with rescheduling if required due to Covid? Are they as helpful as typical American Airlines. My last experience with European / Chinese airlines wasn’t good.

Has anyone had luck or a positive impact with getting or nudging loved ones to seek medical help - e.g. annual check-ups, therapy, etc? My SO (40 yr male) doesn't go to the doctor and has been depressed/not himself for awhile and has mentioned therapy, but won't actually go see anyone. For reference, he does have insurance (just not using it). I've suggested helping with the search, drop-off, or whatever, but no progress.

Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. Hi All, My current employer is filing i140 which should be approved in 15 days with premium processing. However, I intend to change employer after it. It says that one should wait for at least 180 days once I 140 is approved. What happens if I change employer after 180 days and still my current employer revokes my approved I 140 ? Is this possible? I have a very poor manager and I have the opportunity to give her some formal feedback every quarter.
