Are there people who believe strongly in their religion, but are also socially liberal & feminist? In my limited interactions with other Desis, I’ve seen a pattern: liberal people reject religion entirely. And religious people are more conservative with their politics and views on women. Specifically I’m Hindu and believe strongly in equal rights for women, LGBT people, and other “liberal” things. Are there others out there like me? Or who have observed contrary to the pattern I’ve seen?
