I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. I’ve been in inside/outside roles 7+ yrs in Real Estate & have led sales/development on large residential developments for luxury new construction & assist buyers, sellers, investors. I'm a brand new attorney (passed the Feb 2021 bar) who started an in-house counsel position a few months ago (where my focus is negotiating agreements for the sale of my company's software). Recent career-switcher here. While I’m a veteran with the ad process, I am new to the UX agile process. Is it normal to not use briefs whatsoever? Is it normal for the UX research lead to have a stakeholder workshop (sans designers) to think of concept “thought starters,” then have a separate meeting with the UX design lead to vote on which 1 of 3 concepts to proceed with? In advertising, this is analogous to the client and researchers doing the campaign idea then telling the CD to execute it.
