I have received offer from Qualcomm. They haven't mentioned about relocation bonus or accommodation in the offer letter. I have tried reaching the hr since the next day of hr round but they haven't responded to my calls or mails. Any advice on how to get accommodation and relocation bonus. Or is it not possible anymore? FYI I'm in city x and the offered position is in city y of another state.
Update :
After several follow ups Hr have agreed they will give the relocation bonus and reimbursement

How do you know it’s time to leave a job?
Hey Fishbowl family - anyone working at EY-Parthenon that would be willing to chat with me about their experiences (with the potential of a referral)? I have total of 5 yoe specifically in Life Sciences and really would like to explore the potential of interviewing for their NY office. I have been able to land interviews/offers from other T2 firms but would really love to network and connect with EYP. EY EY-Parthenon

SEM....people tend not to value things given to them as much as things they earn. Or take care of things they don't own like things they do own. Just look at rental propert versus tenant owned. UbI only works if you require people to have a FT job or volunteer full time to get it. And someone still has to earn the money to give them. You going to implement an ai tax so a portion of all savings gets paid into a UIB fund? And we already have tax rebates for people who paid no taxes. What is that if not a minimum base, but you have to work and file taxes to get it.
Why do you think such a big portion of healthy work age adults aren't even looking for work? It's because with all the available handouts they getting by not working. A societal safety net is to take care of those with real needs.
Idol hands are the devils workshop...unless you require something in return for UBI you are asking for major trouble.

M1...you need to get out more. You give a kid an allowance just for existing in your household , then offer them more money if they do chores. Kids will fall into 3 categories.
1. Will earn all the extra money they can, they have goals
2. Do some chores to earn some money, but only whenever they need it
3. Will do no chores, but still whine and ask for money to do stuff their friends are doing because they already spent their allowance on other stuff. Obviously the parents need to up the allowance.
None of these people will change their work ethic when they become adults. You are assuming everyone in the universe will do 1 above. The fact is most people are a 2 and way too many a 3.

The war on normal people by Andrew Yang
And it should be. The purpose of us all being alive is not to constantly work to make some person rich. We are supposed to enjoy life. Up until this point, work has been necessary for us to eat and survive. At this point, we have the technology to make food and survival a given. So, we should. We will just have to be careful how we structure UBI.
It has to cover basic needs, but it has to be sustainable from a budget standpoint. It has to make sense from a cost of living standpoint. It has to be at a level that people are still incentivized to go to college, start businesses, become lawyers/doctors/engineers because they want more than UBI. It has to be setup in a way that people know they are going to have an apartment that is clean, has enough room, and is in a safe area. But, that folks also know UBI is not gonna afford you a 5,000 square foot home with a pool LOL.
I saw a few posts with folks suggesting $10k a month as the standard UBI in the US. $120k per year. That is insanity. I think the real number is probably going to be somewhere half that amount. But, I am happy that for the first time most people agree that UBI is necessary, we just need to figure out the right amount and make it happen. It's long overdue.
5k per month? Do you know how hard people have to work to earn that? If at all, you are looking at $580 per month my friend...

That’s for humans, not for bots like you
What happens to the value of the dollar if everyone is getting $$$$ without adding any value? 🤔
I don’t think it’s simple, but that is not a reason to dismiss the idea.
In my mind it would come from savings associated with current safety net programs (with a reasonable transition).
Means testing is expensive - and most of those expenses are concentrated with 10% of the population.
Yang had proposed a tax on value add from AI - which I think is reasonable. I don’t think our tax code comprehends the value of AI yet (and doesn’t need to) - but it’s disruptive enough that it should be discussed.
Rising Star
I’ll get on-board if the UBI is implemented in place of all other welfare distributions. Everyone gets the same.
I’m ok with this
Somewhere Andrew Yang is smiling.
100% agree.
Remove means testing
Elevate basic poverty level
Especially with the promise of AI, right now the value AI generates will accumulate at the top - making our high levels of inequality even worse
I’m skeptical AI is driving a lot of layoffs. It’s more a cover for layoffs and some executive ‘virtue signaling’. If it does, though, then we may need UBI. Impoverishing populations usually results in war or revolution so so g nothing is not an option.
I don’t think AI is driving the layoffs yet, but it’s pretty clear it’ll get there eventually.
When that happens the capital /value will accumulate at the top. Will create even more inequality than what we have now
😂😆
Theyre forgetting to tell you. You don't get UBI for just existing. You will need to meet criteria to receive and your social score could make that less.
The epitome of Pyramid scheme.
lol what kind of conspiracy thinking is thiis
Only if coupled with a consumption tax on ai services like social security
👏🏼
I am from a place that has annual UBI. Everyone gets money from the government (citizens and permanent residents - perm residents receives a fraction of citizens). Not a lot but a good amount that allows people to buy the newest iPhone every year. The problem that we’re seeing is that every time we get paid, restaurants and groceries stores jack up the price by a percentage as well. So then, nothing changes really and it hikes up the cost of living for everyone. The money provided by the government is not enough to sustain the permanent price hike but it’s always nice to be able to get the newest iPhone
