What law firm is your favorite for run of the mill employment issues in the US and internationally (India, Australia, UK, Germany, etc.). Has anyone successfully moved out of claims into underwriting? I have been doing worker’s compensation claims for about 9 years now as an adjuster. I would really like to get into underwriting but have not had any success so far. What are some other roles I can transition to?

There's such an expectation around one's wedding day but not much discussion around how it's different from it

Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!

Any tips on making a small wedding feel intimate and special versus tiny and boring?

Hi everyone - We are thinking of changing our wedding photographer after unsatisfactory engagement photos and unsatisfactory communication (unresponsive after multiple attempts). We paid a $450 retainer which we know will be not refundable. However, we are not sure about other liability as we read our contract and found these 2 clauses (in comments). Please advise! Definitely not happy with her and would like to switch to another one but also want to make sure we make the right move. Thanks!

Has anyone hosted their own engagement party? All of my friends and family live far away from us so it is just easier for me to plan it but I feel odd doing so. Any tips?

Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be someone reasonably priced out there that delivers quality work. I am splurging on the photographer so this would just be an extra.

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(

Thoughts on inviting co-workers to your wedding? I joined a new team a year ago during the pandemic and haven’t met them in person - I’ve developed some cordial working relationships but not sure if I’d consider them wedding close! Any thoughts or advice?

On one hand I know it will be such a special day with all our family and friends. On top of that I feel like we hired incredibly talented people that will make the day awesome.
On the other hand, I feel like the costs keep adding up and while the our day is not putting us in debt I can’t help but feel a little guilt….

What is your total “wedding look” budget/est. spend? (Everything including dress, make up, jewelry, shoes, outfit changes, accessories, etc.). I have put so much emphasis on my looks (no regrets) and I actually just tallied up my spend and my head almost exploded. Frankly just seeking a little validation that I am not the only crazy person out there 🙃
