I had 10 people I wanted as bridesmaids, so I just went with my sister as MOH. (I got married at 35, so I had accumulated a lot of friends along the way.) Then I invited the rest to be VIPs. They all wore navy, had the option to get their hair and makeup done, and we got pictures together. But they didn’t walk down the aisle or have any responsibilities. I got good feedback from them doing this.

This is the way to do it!

Ehh More brides maid = more unnecessary stress energy and concern.

I attended a wedding with about 10 bridesmaids and it was a bit much.

At end of day it’s your day and your spouses day. I had zero brides maid 😅 1-3 is very safe.

like

I had four bridesmaids (including the maid of honor.) It was a good number. I feel like 6 or more is too many.

You can always a big bachelorette and less bridesmaids! And still have all the friends in your room getting ready but then not everyone needs to coordinate dress and shoes

smart

I had 10 (friends + family) I’m an only child so lots of friends & cousins. I would so love to go back and cut it down to just a few of my absolute closest friends/family. The more people the more stress, money, opinions, etc. I would’ve preferred having them all at my Bach and then just picking select few for my actual day.

What’s stressful about having lots of bridesmaids? Planning my wedding now and want to include 7 or 8 people. I feel like I’m missing something on why this would be a bad idea

Eh I’m doing 7 and yeah I think the hardest part is hair and makeup. You either have to get started earlier or hire more help… Or have people do it themselves!

I am having four!

I’m just having 1- my sister! We will invite more friends and family to the bachelorette party

How big is the wedding. 8 bridesmaid for 80 guests is differwnt than 8 for 250.

What law firm is your favorite for run of the mill employment issues in the US and internationally (India, Australia, UK, Germany, etc.). I primarily use Littler because they have a broad reach and decent rates but I’m wondering whether Bird & Bird, Ogletree, or some other firm has similar pricing and as good or better quality work. So, who are you using and are you happy?

I thought I set some boundaries with my wedding since my fiancé and I are paying for everything. Now I’m getting more comments about why we didn’t invite some long lost cousin or family member… I don’t want to go bridezilla on people but I’m starting to see how it can happen 😂

Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!

Hi everyone - We are thinking of changing our wedding photographer after unsatisfactory engagement photos and unsatisfactory communication (unresponsive after multiple attempts). We paid a $450 retainer which we know will be not refundable. However, we are not sure about other liability as we read our contract and found these 2 clauses (in comments). Please advise! Definitely not happy with her and would like to switch to another one but also want to make sure we make the right move. Thanks!

Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be someone reasonably priced out there that delivers quality work. I am splurging on the photographer so this would just be an extra.
