Any word on Swift in Portland?
Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

Welcome to peace of mind. It’s great here.
I got tired of getting tagged in IT’s phishing email tests and forced to do those tutorials. So I stopped opening any emails from leadership, finance, or HR.
If it’s important enough, someone will tell you via chat or video call
honestly this is a vibe
Sounds like a very effective way to stall your career. It’s rare that someone is so talented they can overcome a lack of care.
Oh, no, strangers gave me a higher title and more money. How will I sleep at night knowing people I don’t care about past 6pm didn’t go to bat for me? 😭
A promotion is a promotion. I don’t care how I come by it. Progress is a flex. Always.
This is the move
I’ve done this for 3 years. Realized people have either quit or been fired years after the fact on LinkedIn lol.
Similar thing happened to my colleague a few years ago, lol. She (colleague) skipped all the meetings. 3 months go by and she found out the head of her department was let go. She worked for a global company that’s 100% remote. So it’s not uncommon to not interact higher-ups for stretches, even if you do attend all the meetings. Which the former head did. Why was she got let go? Budgetary reasons. The CCO a few comments up will tell you that attendance helps you succeed and “get fed.” Maybe. But it doesn’t save you from being chewed up and spit out by the accounting department.
Just focus on your personal progress and day to day work.
Btw, my colleague and everyone else got a promotion as a result. No big pay bump though. Budgetary reasons.
I usually take this time to play switch or draw on my sketchbook
It's a shame you feel this way -- agency-wide meetings are a way a company creates culture. And culture is what separate companies. If you don't participate in the agency culture -- you really shouldn't be at the agency. And trust me -- people notice. If you're not at enough events, people will ask questions. And if it's between two people for a promotion or termination -- you'll be on the bad side of the decision.
I hope you reconsider. Or that you're very wealthy. Because unemployment could be the real thing you'll be resolved to in 2026.
I remember when I was in 1st grade and the teacher asked what we wanted to do be when we grew up. My hand shot in the air and I stood up, shoulders straight and chest out, and proudly said, “I don’t Mrs. Smith, but I want to be at a place for their culture!”
Who cares about the culture? Honestly. I give them a service, they give me money. I do the best I can on my actual work. Why isn’t that enough. Why do I NEED to attend these meetings? They’re exactly as SAD1 said.
Also, I’m not sure what Klick Inc. is. I hope during your meetings they’re talking about building their outward presence in addition to their culture.

This is the dream. I wish I had enough clout to make it a reality. 90% of these meetings could be emails. Pointless.
I don’t have clout. I have irrelevance. I’m low on the totem pole, nobody notices I’m missing. I wish this for you.
This is the vibe you need to thrive in 2026 👏
I am whole heartedly adopting this for
2026.
Use it in good health.
Only Creatives can try this. All other depts are getting pinged like crazy 8mins into those meetings lol.
Rising Star
Wow. I’m sorry you’re so disinterested in your agency and coworkers. When I read all the comments here, I can see why leadership thinks nobody cares. They apparently don’t.
Frankly, I love where I work and I go to all the meetings to hear what’s new. If I felt like most of you, I would not stay where I am. It must be miserable to be so unhappy somewhere and force yourself to stay there.
I care. about the work and about my team. Not the agency as much.
Agency leadership have lost the locker room a long time ago. Agree with author 100%. Big rah rah meetings don’t matter anymore.
Agree, attend all meetings. Then find out you and about 10 others. We’re in the second wave of layoffs.
How big is your agency?
CD1, it’s a big agency; multiple offices.
It’s about face time & being seen. Not showing up can only hurt you. Out of sight out of mind…
Out of cares to give
Sounds like someone wants to be in the next round of layoffs. Doesn't care about the agency, changes enacted, or its future. Seems like a model employee that everyone would love have on their team. Get ready for the results of your "experiment." Hypothesis: the sidewalk will be in your future sooner than you think.
Curious if OP1 is still at Omnicom.
Love this. I hate my job so much less when we don't have a "MANDATORY ALL-HANDS MEETING" for a while.
Especially if it’s a virtual meeting, what’s the harm in having the video open, corner screen, while you continue working on projects?
That way you get “credit“ for attending, and absorb whatever information is relevant to you. Bonus is no one can see your eye-rolls! (If cameras off)
