Here's a better look at the logo, so cast your vote. Was the designed by a person or AI?
I'm going to say this was made by a human, and I'm going to go further out on a limb and say it was 1000% intentional. Prior to last week, I'm guessing no one here had ever heard of the Chesapeake Baysox/Oyster Catchers. They're a major story now, and minor league baseball teams have been doing increasingly wild things to generate attention and interest (see: Savannah Bananas). It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was done on purpose.
It had to be designed by a human. The question is whether it was an innocent mistake, and, uh, nah, someone knew what they were doing. But I wonder if it was really a strategy, or one of those things someone does as a joke for internal consumption and ooops, someone who didn't get the joke approved it and it went public. I guess we'll never know.
I can see this be a human AI combo and the designer not catching what they did. My real question is how did the rest of the team and organization miss it I can see if you make the design being too close to realize what’s happening, but surely somebody saw What this was
