Those who do financial modeling at work: for case study in interviews, is it bad practice to submit a model based on a premade template, assuming that I understand all formulas and incorporate my own reasonable assumptions? For reference, I don’t work with fundamental modeling (quant background) so I needed to get a template to teach myself. TIA

Hello, I have 10 yrs experience in the residential mortgage side including loan officer, underwriter, real estate ect. I am looking to move into the commercial underwriting space. I found a few schools with certifications. Can anyone recommend a certificate that holds weight when trying to break into cre underwriting? Anything I can do to stand out with minimal commercial experience? Most companies want 5 yrs experience and I am finding it hard to find opportunities. Thanks
