I have been working in the construction industry for 2 years under a general contractor. I am wanting to get into consulting and my ideal role would be something like an Associate in Major Projects Advisory with KPMG. I’m curious to know which firms/companies have positions and departments like the one mentioned that I could apply for?

Because with large money comes large Ego, strive to be successful. Be as impressive as your parents, duh
@d3 do you need help budgeting?
I am a supporter of the estate tax.
Because shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in 3 generations is a real thing, and people loveeeee to talk about it when they see it happen. And because I am 26 and have the energy. I think what you are really getting at is that the risk/reward of mgmt consulting is only attractive if you are very risk averse and need stability in your career, otherwise it's a shitty deal long term. Just here to learn for a few years and build the resume
@D5, just so the government can waste more of our money on useless stuff? Until they can spend current tax dollars wisely, I'll never support giving them more money.
An example, a friend started working for a govt agency 4 weeks ago and has still not received his issued computer, so he has not been able to do anything . Still collects his full paycheck though. This is just a tiny example but it's real.
^I work federal. Believe me, I don't need examples of government waste.
Because I don't touch it the $ with the exception of donating to charity/helping out friends. I want to live a normal life like everyone else and chose consulting for the same reasons as many other do. Like everyone there are shitty days that I question why I'm here but there are many others that I love what I do and get fulfillment from working. I'd be bored to death and feel useless if I wasn't pushing myself at least a little.
That being said I don't plan to stay in consulting forever but will for as long as I still enjoy it most of the time. When that time comes I'll pursue more entrepreneurial ventures.
Define large inheritances. A few mil, won't last a lifetime. I would only feel secure if I had more than a 50 mil. Which I obviously don't.
My services are proof of government waste
Congress doesn't feel the same way, D5- exemption going up
You think all that family money and inheritance was made working 40 hours a week? Or it will still be around waiting for them if they slack off to 20-30 hours week? You're adorable.
Because even though success is a reality its effects are temporary.
My family is just well enough off to be a break glass emergency net. However, I've always found that helped my risk appetite enough at work to be able to perform better by doing crazier things. If you're too panicked about a life leveraged to the hilt, you'll never take the risks that win clients or career moves.
