Coach
Working a 9 to 5 as a cog in the wheel with no action and no real opportunity for advancement while making someone else money can also zap ambition. Pick your poison. Before you make any rash decisions maybe try to take some time off (not easy I know ) or speak to a therapist
I've lost many colleagues when I was an associate and many associates since I made partner to the same issue. Some leave and get a 9-5 and are happy to spend more time brewing beer, playing with their kids, or whatever. Others get the 9-5 and are still miserable. Try to figure out which group you are in before you jump ship. Good luck
Literally, same.
Look into the former lawyer podcast.
What’s causing you to be miserable? Is it the cases, the work, or the people you have to deal with?
Yes.
Honestly, go to a smaller firm in a more niche area. If you are an estate or probate or real estate attorney at a 2-30 person firm serving a smaller group of clients or a smaller community you’re working 9-5 (or less!) and still usually making six figures. Vastly less stress, but also less opportunity for financial gain.
You can also often somewhat pick your own hours. Obviously you still need to meet with clients, but usually nobody cares if you leave at noon to go to the gym and hit the grocery store and finish the work from home later or the next day or whatever.

OP and A1, have you though carefully about what specific thing is making you unhappy?
Are your typical work weeks 80-100 hours? That has got to be a large factor. How do you even have time to think let alone take care of yourself.
