Mine’s the hours, which is not normally my issue. I billed 230 for June and July and am already at 145 for August. My ability to focus is getting worse by the day, so I’m working longer to bill the same hours and have had to pull a couple all nighters. I burst into tears this morning when a client changed plans and now wants a major project by end of month, on top of my other deadlines next week... I just want to sleep.

What’s the deal with these start-ups not hiring people with actual insurance experience?

Life insurance without a buy sell agreement is just as useful as a buy sell agreement left unfunded. When dealing with business owners make sure that they’re buy sell agreements are up to date and funded. And the most important question is what is your business worth? Most business owners “think” they know what their business is worth but without a true business valuation, a buy sell agreement can be left seriously underfunded or could be over funded.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?
