Not for meal planning but for overall diet yes. And go with an RD (registered dietician) over a nutritionist. There’s no certification process or training requirements for nutritionists; RDs are trained and licensed healthcare professionals.
RDs can help with everything you mentioned - meal planning, overall diet, etc. Some have specializations, like sports nutrition, eating disorders, or disease management (especially for things like diabetes and cancer), but plenty just aim to help people find a way of eating healthier that is sustainable with their lifestyle.
If you want to use insurance, you may need a referral from your PCP, which is how I found one, but there should also be a directory through the licensing board. I’ve also found that a lot of younger RDs are using IG and other social media to talk about nutrition and their work in general.
