Why do lawyers celebrate a culture of poor health?

Your point is fair although I don’t know that many people “celebrate” the culture you’re talking about. In fact, I know a lot of law firms and other businesses - that even before COVID19 - insisted that sick people NOT come to work because of the risk/probability of other people getting sick. One irony of the WFH situation is that when you’re working at home there’s no risk of infecting others so it may be easier to allow/require people who are ill to work.

OP do the people you’re working with know you’re really sick?

Looking for advice and recommendations on starting a non-profit healthcare case management company in my area. The focus population served would be low-income seniors with the primary customers being primary care offices that could obtain contracted case management services based on the practice’s needs/financial constraints.

I have my MSW & nearing completion of my MBA. I have 11 years experience, 6 in healthcare inpatient&outpatient.

What recommendations do you have on starting this process?

The best thing for my anxiety and depression has been admitting to myself I despise my job and career, and likely the corporate world, and that attempting to continue climbing the ladder was causing pretty much all my mental turmoil. Moving up the ladder is a fools errand. Every day my mind was fighting me for trying to get promoted because I knew it was meaningless. So with that said, mental health has been best it’s been in a long time. For anyone else in a similar boat, hope it helps.

There has been NO discussion for accommodations, nor any request made. But the email mentioned “pre-existing condition” and felt very intentional.

The recent most billable hours post, inspired me. What is your longest billable day? Mine was 56 hours straight with no break—and the partner was more than a jerk when I was saying no more at the 30 hour point. That was two 24 hour billable days back to back on my time sheet and on the bill, a 360 hour month, and 650 aggregated for two months. And it is one reason (of so many reasons) why this job can suck so much! At least I got a good bonus...
