I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. Working remotely the last three years has become a way of my life and supports our current situation well, therefore I am seeking a similar role but will consider other opportunities.

Just gamed with some guys (freshmen and sophmore). I am almost 30 and they remind me of those old days. Miss those fun and young friendships. All my friends married and have kids now.

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

Lots of smart people here. Why is the fed increasing interest rates again, when they have already admitted it will not reduce inflation rates? Are they spurring a recession and why? Political purposes? Manufactured crisis?

To my understanding dealmaking/structuring is a major aspect of senior positions and I would like to gain more experience in that space. There's an opportunity for me to take up a role in Corporate Development and Transaction Services (I am currently in a CD&O role), will I actually get what I'm seeking in that area + is this overkill for someone looking to learn sales skills?

I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

Anyone hiring right now? 5 YOE in consulting (3 years finance performance improvement big 4, 2 years software license compliance for a global software company), PMP certified. Spent the past two years in grad school and as a mental health therapist. Looking to go back to consulting or industry.

Doing ops work at Apple, would it be worth it to go to MBB to get more generalist experience and eventually exit into a function I’d rather do? For context, I’m 27M with a TC of about 200K and another reason I’d consider leaving is RTO with very little flexibility at Apple.
