Look at it beyond numbers right out of school, and also think about what your career would look like in 5-10 years with and without it.
OP, if you don’t have student loans to worry about then you should go for the industry/role that you think will best set you up for your long-term career goals. Plenty of ex-Consultants and Bankers pivot into CPG Brand post-MBA and take the pay cut.

Your short-term ROI may not pencil, but the value of an MBA from a T15 school over an entire career is priceless. So that begs the question... which school are you considering attending?
Solid. Go for it. You won’t regret it.
That was my plan too after I graduated from bschool. So glad I chose consulting instead - much more money

Hey OP, I went into CPG after school and kind of regret not going into consulting for the money and exit opps. If you want to be an entrepreneur Id recommend starting it while in bschool for the network and funding opportunities. You are right that there is more work life balance - my weeks are generally around45 hours.
Look at roles at companies you want to end up at for brand management and see where they hire from (i.e do they primarily hire from within or can you lateral from consulting)
What do you want to do long term?
In a perfect world, I’d be an entrepreneur 3-5 years post-MBA. That said, one of the things that draws me to Brand Management is the work/life balance. I figure with additional time on my hands I can get into flipping houses and doing some AirBnb rentals. I don’t know how feasible house flipping will be if I’m always traveling to client sites.
