Here’s a thought: maybe the government of the Netherlands can simply stop spending money. Or maybe ask the king and queen to pay for any budgetary shortfall because, like some European countries, they still have Royals.

At least there is that but still seems very punitive and will make people sell to pay taxes or move investments elsewhere.

I dunno - their old system seems pretty nuts.
Both are insane for trying to tax unrealized gains.
